Ok so 290.000 jobs were gained in April. But 66,000 of those are temporary census workers. They will lose their jobs when the job is done. Jobs lost in April was 38,326. So In reality since the census workers are only temporary and the jobs lost in april, we only had a Gain of 185,674. Why is this never mentioned??
@Easter Bunny

The unemployment rate going up to 9.9% is hardly good news.

At the rate of 185,674 it will take over 8 years just to get back to the pre crisis unemployment level. That figure is good news, but is abyssmal looking at an eight year recovery=(

Why does the media distort the facts about the jobs?

Getting desperate there rightwinger? Look at yourself, you’re reduced to arguing that good news isn’t as good as advertised.

As reported on CBS tonight we are gaining 150,000 jobs a month. Unfortunately even at that rate it will be 2013 until we replace the jobs lost by the meltdown. This has been years in the making.
whether it be the jobs lost overseas or companies that closed because of the inabilty to produce quality products at competative prices. So what’s the problem and what’s the solution?

The media is not biased, they look for the worst in everyone.
