I lived in another state for a year. While I was there I worked three temporary jobs (one for three weeks, one for six months, and one for five months) acquired through a staffing agency. How should I list the employers on my resume? Should I list the employer as the actual place I worked at, or should I list it as the name of the staffing agency, and then beneath that list the place I worked at? Or is there some other way I should do it?

Your agency was your employer, and you were working on-site at their clients. So it would be the name of the agency listed on your resume and then something like:

On assignment at:
(list the companies you worked for)
(list the companies you worked for)
(list the companies you worked for)

One of the reasons this is important is that when a recruiter or hiring manager decides that they want to hire you, they are going to want references. If you list the companies you worked at, then they are going to want references from that company. Most companies have HR do their references - and because you were an employee of the agency, not the company, they won’t recognize you as an employee and could say that you never worked for them.

Why do some employee’s at these company’s where Temporary workers go to work at treat the Temporary workers like they are garbage or like they are stupid & worthless ?

Some people just don’t care about any one but themselves & think that they are better then others so they have to put down or treat others unfair temporary workers are usually treated all right some people may just think because they don’t have a full time job that they are less then qualified but it is mostly because some people don’t show respect or welcome others to their work place.

I’m still looking for a fulltime job and most employers would ask me this qn. How to sound positive that I am doing temp jobs while on the lookout for better prospects and seem dedicated?

I am regional manger for an international recruitment organisation, with approx 100,000 at any one time working for over 230 branches throughout the UK, therefore we have lots of experience in liasing with both temporary employers and placing permanent candidates with clients. My advise would be two fold.
1} employers will be impressed that you have used your time out of the permanent workforce to actually gain employment however short term, gain new skills, experience new environments and have the confconfidence wherewithall to pick up new operating sytems/ company policies etc rather than sit on your laurels awiting a plum job to drop into your lap. You must play up this angle of your CV, highligthing that it has increased your confidence, your skill set and your flexibility.
2) Many employers see temporay workers (as do temps themselves) as a "try before you buy" type situation, often temps will secure a permanent role via the temp to perm route, by making themselves indespensible.

There are many advantages to temporary work, however short or long term. Try to focus on the positives that you have gained from each assignment and I am sure you’ll come up smelling of roses.

Will the Congress/White House count the hundreds of thousands of Temporary Jobs with the census as job creation?

Just to give the monthly unemployment total a positive for the first time? Or should it not be counted because the jobs are only going to lasta couple months before they are unemployed again?

Or will they count them, then when the census is over, not count those losses?
