Retail jobs, as in Target, Wal Mart, Khols, etc.
The best way to get retail jobs is to hit the pavement. Stop in at every store within your commuting area and fill out their job application. If you aren’t local then you can try the job boards (Monster, CareerBuilder, HotJobs) but many retail positions are not posted because the job boards are expensive. THAT SAID, if you are looking for jobs with Target, WalMart, and big companies like that, try their corporate web sites. They may have job postings or contact information for local stores.
If you do hit the street, remember that in a sense you are interviewing the moment you set foot in the store to fill out the application. You should be dressed nicely (not necessarily in a business suit, but not in baggy jeans and a sweatshirt either), walk with good posture and like you have a purpose, speak with confidence but not arrogance or with an attitude. Remember that you are asking to care for their customers and they only want to hire people who will do that well.
