I want to travel to China next year and base myself in Beijing for 3 months maximum and while there I was wondering is there any job I could find to make some extra money. I would love to teach english as I am a straight A student in English here in my Irish high school but when I travel to Beijing I will only be 17 and I am wondering will this pose any problems as I am not a LEGAL adult.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am willing to take and courses etc I need to.

First off is qualifications. The school will hope to see a degree (which obviously you don’t have yet) and also a TEFL certificate to prove you can teach English. If the school needs a teacher there and then they might be willing to employ you without a degree. This means you will have to arrive in China and literally start knocking on school doors seeing if there’s a job going. If you’re lucky (and persistent) you should pick up something.

I was wondering how the education system worked in China and how jobs are obtained.

Do people get to choose their work or does the state assign people with specific jobs?

Sigh. Yes they get to pick their own jobs and education.

If it did, wouldn’t Mexico be better off and produce less illegal immigrants. Do Mexicans get paid that much more than the Chinese that businesses send jobs to China?

it would be Hecho in Mexico instead of …whatever, I don’t know Chinese lol

well, to be honest and not pompous, many mexican people are taking the jobs of americans at a lower wage right now and many are illegal, so the outsourcing is in the homeland.

One person says…"americans sell products all over the world, therefore if (we) expect them to buy (our) products, then (we) must buy (their) products.

Ok, I want to see how many people can explain why this person’s argument is a lie.
how about this argument "Who are you to tell me that I cant make my products in China where labor is cheaper"? whats the fallacy with that argument?

We have to…..

So Obama can Borrow another Trillion Dollars from China.

Do old people think that the youth is as dumb as they were and we should lay all this on Obama? I know it is Americans that hire the illegals that motivate them to come here and I know Wal-Mart dropped their made in the USA slogan way before Obama, Bush or Clinton. Then they show up to rallies like pay attention to me, this thing on my side goes bang.

We need to file criminal charges and attach some serious jail time to anyone who hires an illegal alien.

Should the Americans accept lower wages to compete with the open market like Republicans want.

Labor is to high here as well as all the government rules, mandates regulations. In my home town there are 23 pages of rules for a hot dog cart .

You would need to actually define "fading generation" to get a specific answer. Wages have long been based on the open market, how else would they be efficiently set?..

i am from bangladesh. I know good chinese (studied for 2 years) and i scored 98 in TOEFL iBT. I hear there are lots of english teaching jobs in china and they return good money. Pls say how can i get or arrange them.

they usually want native speakers and people that fit the stereotype of "foreigners", white skin, blue eyes and yellow hair, but, I think you could get a job, if you search the below links, it may take some extra work on your part since you are not the typical foreigner but, you can do it!

Check out this month’s issue of Fortune magazine. China has been spending billions bulding factories in Texas, Nevada, S.Carolina creating jobs for American workers!
