if you are from the California->San Francisco bay area www.craigslist.com works wonders. if not you can try myspace.com they have plenty of amature photogrphers who are willing to give out free shoot in exchange for portfolio pictures. be carefull though! there are plenty of wakos out there!! best of luck!
