I am American, but I can speak Chinese, and am just wondering if anyone has any idea on how to find a non-teaching job in China after the world expo? Thanks!

How do Chinese use the internet to find jobs? What sites do they use? I can read Chinese pretty okay. Thanks!

An American woman in Shanghai writes the highly popular "Shanghai Technical Writer" blog and in August of last year, put together a five-part series on living and working in China. She included some excerpts from Forbes and the New York Times and summarizes as follows:

10 key points from the article:

1. Work in China is challenging and fast-paced, and young executives get far more responsibility than back home.
2. Executives with China experience will be in high demand in the U.S. in coming years.
3. Expect a significantly lower salary in China because competition is stiff. Americans will be competing with top Chinese university graduates as well as returnees who speak both languages well and understand the culture. Having good English skills is no longer enough.
4. It is much more difficult to obtain a work visa in China than before.
5. Many companies no longer fly you out for an interview. If you’re serious about coming to China, buy your own plane ticket.
6. Start looking for that China job in the U.S.. Find people that know people in China and network, network, network!
7. Training is scarce in Chinese companies. Find something that allows you try to a little bit of everything.
8. Better to start a career in the U.S., get training, gain experience, then move to China.
9. It is very important to learn the language and understand the culture.
10. One of the best ways to start a career in China is to start a language program or teach English at a school. Then network, network, network!

She then goes on to give her thoughts and opinions (she has lived in China since 2001). You can read her entire entry here: http://www.shanghaitechwriter.com/2009/08/17/americans-looking-for-work-in-china/

i have been lukin fr a job i have uploaded my cv evrywhr bt no rt recommendation f lob comes
what shud i do
i need it urgently

First and foremost

stop using those shortcuts while communicating. So many short words will definitely create confusion. Use proper grammar and proper words.

Read classifieds in popular newspapers
Read vacancy ads in websites
Register yourself with a couple of job websites like timesjobs etc
Keep you CV handy. Get photocopies. Distribute them amongst your friends and relatives and specifically tell them your requirements.
Learn some new skill

Do all this and am sure you will get good job.

It’s great that you want to get a job! Here are some suggestions:

Babysitting: It pays a lot and you get to enjoy free food sometimes. Preschoolers are easy to work with most of the time.

McDonald’s: You get about $7-$9 an hour and it will make you more confident since you talk to lots of people everyday.

Life Guard: Since it’s summer it’s a great idea to be one. You get around $15 an hour and you rarely do anything.

Waiter: If you work at a busy restaurant, you can get as much as $75 in tips.

Walmart

Subway

Delivery Person

Starbucks

There are a lot out there. Just start out on an easy job and move up. Good luck!

Grandma is looking to earn some income working from home; have noticed a lot of scams reported when referencing/searching for virtual jobs online, your help is greatly appreciated.

You can set up your own business, but no, there are no "jobs" for you. Nobody hires anybody to just work from home. It doesnt work like that. I would know because Ive been working online for about 5 years now. The only time Im not on the computer is when Im sleeping, its sad really. But if there was a work from home job out there, I would know about it now because Ive seen every inch of the internet since Im on here so much and always looking for new ways to make money.
The closest thing to working for someone else is affiliate marketing. This is where you promote other peoples products from your website or just putting links in places like craigslist that lead people back to someone elses website where they can buy a product. Once they buy a product., you get paid a commission for referring them. This is the closest thing to a work at home job, but you are not an employee of theirs, you are independent.

where can i find a job in my area over the internet like what websites are there for my need iam also 16 years of age

Your best bet = the newspapers classified ads

Never apply online - apply in person and fill out the application on the spot.
Dress well, and make sure you ask for the manager when turning in the application.
Shake his hand, compliment the store in some way, and tell them how much you would like to be part of the team.
Sell yourself - and be agressive - make sure you make an impression - smile but don’t giggle - don’t wear jeans under any circumstances. Tie your hair in a ponytail if its food service.

I’m thinking of saving up about 15 g’s and moving to Europe. I chose England mainly because of the similar language. Would it be easy for me to get a job? If does not matter to me what kind of job, just anything that would allow me to live. Is this even possible? Can people just get up and move to another country and kind of ‘wing it’ till you find a job? I currently live in the US by the way.

You could move freely within the EU, if you were an EU citizen. However, if you’re a US citizen, you can’t just show up in Europe and stay for longer than 3 months. It is illegal to work here without the proper work visa or student visa.

In general in Europe, and in particular here in Italy, you have to have a job lined up in order to get a work visa before you move here from either the US or Australia. You can only stay for 90 days without some type of visa (work, student, …). You cannot apply for the visa while you’re here and you’ll need the proper paperwork from the company. Coming from the US, you’ll also have to have skills that can’t easily be duplicated here.

There are several on-line ex-pat sites that are good resources for researching moving to Italy; here are two to start with:

http://www.expatsinitaly.com/
http://www.insight-italy.com/artscsii.ht…

You can find similar sites for other countries. Please be aware that you will have to file taxes both here and in the US if you retain your US citizenship.

-want to work from home
-want to work for myself

You should do your research…you have to know the type of job you want to do, then look for companies that offer that type of job.
Anything you can do in an office you can do online. Most jobs that self employed people do, can be done from home.
But if you are looking for someone to give you a job, then I am afraid it isn’t going to be easy as you’ll be competing with people that will willingly work for much less money than you think, due to their location.
$10 a day can be a lot of money for many qualified people.

hello does anyone know if and were any good jobs are in phoenix i really need help and really need a job dnt care what it is and how much it pays get back to me a.s.a.p thanks.

first dont waste your time on those good offers on the internet.

door knocking is a great way to get an in on a job. the employer thinks "that guy must be keen for a job he keeps coming back" i know i have employed people after they have come in job hunting again and again.

if you really cant find a job. you have to think about creating your own.
what are you good at?
what are your interests?
if you offer a service and it is something you like doing you can really build it up cos you are happy to be doing it.
walking dogs, babysitting spoilt dogs, kids? cleaning windows, ovens, bathrooms. specialise in one thing that people hate to do for themselves. i know a person who washes out wheelie bins for people he started a year ago and now employs three people. crazy eh! every household has everyone going to work so lots of them will pay a lot for the silly annoying jobs about the place to be done cos they want the days off to be for themselves. like changing the oil in their cars, raking the leaves, bathing the dog, doing the grocery shopping, cleaning the fish tanks, de-liming the showers. whatever.
good luck!
